Why are Fallas celebrated in Dénia on the Costa Blanca?
Fallas have a deep cultural and festive meaning. Their original purpose was to burn the old to make way for the new, a tradition that over time was transformed into a great artistic and social spectacle.
Fallas in Dénia, as in the rest of the Valencian Community, are celebrated in honour of Saint Joseph (San Jose), patron saint of carpenters. Fallas in Benidorm and Valencia
Fallas are also celebrated in Benidorm – Costa Blanca, although with less intensity than in Dénia or Valencia. The best-known Fallas are celebrated every year in Valencia.
