Stage 1: Orihuela – Orihuela Playa
The Vuelta begins with a 34-kilometre team time trial between Orihuela and Orihuela Playa, in honour of the centenary of cyclist Bernardo Ruiz. This race, which returns after a seven-year absence, is one of the most eagerly awaited by fans and represents a key opportunity for teams to test their coordination and tactics from the start.
Stage 2: La Nucía – Benifato (Font de Partegat)
The second day of competition features a demanding 166-kilometre route, starting in La Nucía and finishing at Alto de Partegat, in Benifato. The route includes notable climbs such as Coll de Rates and Alto de Benimantell, offering mountain specialists an ideal setting to make a difference. The summit finish at Partegat, a new finish, could be key in the fight for the lead.

Stage 3: Algemesí – Alpuente
The third stage connects Algemesí with Alpuente along 180 kilometres. Although the terrain is mostly flat, the climb to Pico del Remedio, located 20 kilometres from the finish, will be a strategic challenge where the cyclists will have to manage their strength well to face the final stretch.
Stage 4: Oropesa del Mar – Portell de Morella
Known as the “queen stage” of the competition, this 181-kilometre stretch between Oropesa del Mar and Portell de Morella is the most demanding of the route. Throughout the day, the riders will have to overcome four mountain passes, the most notable of which are the first category ones: Chodos and Vistabella. These tough climbs, located some 70 kilometres from the finish, could be decisive in the fight for the leader’s jersey.
Stage 5: Alfafar – Valencia
The final stage, 104 kilometres long, takes place between Alfafar and Valencia. Although it is a mainly flat route, there are five areas where the wind could be a determining factor, adding a tactical component that could alter the classification until the last moment.
Consequences of the DANA and the region’s recovery capacity
It should be noted that several of the towns through which the 2025 Vuelta de la Comunitat Valenciana will pass suffered the effects of the DANA in October 2024. Including these areas in the route not only highlights their attractiveness and prominence in cycling, but also represents their strength and recovery capacity after recent climatic challenges.
